A very well written short story with a lot of intrigue packed into very few words. Though short, the writer is able to weave a fairly intricate plot making the reader unsure whether the crimes committed are motivated by politics, religion, or just good old fashioned greed. Sometimes Montclaire takes justice into his own hands. Remember the size of the tablet and the size of the burial plaque. Again, lots of twists and turns.
